I have been making unusual vesta boxes (also known as match safes) in Hallmarked Sterling Silver for over 30 years,
gradually expanding the range to the present 22 designs, including Pigs, Owls, Mice, Teddies and a Dr. Who Tardis.
Vesta boxes have been made in England for over 100 years, originally to hold the newly invented self-igniting match,
which replaced the tinder box. Some of the early examples were figurative and many were highly decorated.
My hand crafted "novelty" boxes are mostly given as significant gifts, or collected as a set of unusual silver boxes.
